Soil tests on Agri-Rec site near old cheese plant
Geologist Mr. Dean Gould from Winnipeg supervised Paddock Drilling Co. crews drilling four to five test holes at the Agri-Rec Complex site on Rossburn fair grounds. Methods included split pipe core samples to 25 feet and a 140 pound hammer standard penetration test. findings suggest dense silty clay till footing and shale layers for a stable base. Project manager Mr. Ian Bobiak called results encouraging and estimated up to 25 percent foundation savings. Doug Joiner aided by locating survey pins, saving about $3,000. drawings due May 15 with engineer input. tenders planned to open May 31, 1991.
