The Canadian government upholds provincial rights under the British North America Act and rejects sending in unqualified soldiers, offering exit with apologies.
A memorial note honors Mrs. J. L. McLaren dated May 5, 1948, while a political address appeals for national leadership in health and education. The speaker urges Ottawa to fund provincial education with a National Education Programme, arguing the B N A Act should not block progress and that Canada must invest in engineers, scientists, and capable citizens. Funeral services were held for Marjorie Winnifred Walker on Wednesday April 13. Born January 11 1925 in Rosburn she lived in Arden after moving from Elphinstone. Survived by parents two sisters and two brothers. Interment in Arden cemetery with White's funeral home in charge.

Monday night at the Rossburn Fair Grounds Rossburn and Birtle played a junior baseball game. Birtle won 6 5 with two late runs in the last inning securing the lead. Rossburn’s five runs came in the fourth inning led by Von Hagen and a bases loaded hit by the author.
