Waywayseecappo Students Stage Education Day and Science Fair
Waywayseecappo School hosted its first Education Day and Science Fair on a Thursday in March. Parents joined for classroom sessions in the early afternoon, then visited the gym to view science and industrial arts projects from Grades 1 through 9, including a Grade 1 dinosaur display, Grade 2 fingerprints, Grade 3 shadows, Grade 4 animal displays, Grade 5 egg hatchling and chicken raising, plus assorted student projects. Tea, coffee, and lunch followed.

Trustees, teachers head to conciliation in local talks
Negotiations between the Pelly Trail School Board and the divisions teachers stalled last week, prompting both sides to seek a conciliator. By March 17 the teachers proposed a 6.25 percent raise and 95 days sick leave, while the board urged a 1 percent raise and kept its earlier positions on retirements and leave policies. The board argues a zero levy will force further staffing cuts and called for mediation.
