Tax Sale Set For May 17th
The Village of Rossburn council set a tax sale for Friday May 17 1968 at 2 00 pm for properties in arrears. The meeting also approved transfers of title to original owners for lots 1 and 4 plan 555, appointed a new eleven member recreation board and authorized Manitoba Hydro street lighting changes. Officials discussed policing by the RCMP beginning April 1 1969 and approved routine bills totaling 5781 35. The council adjourned to meet April 16 1968.

Slow Named President Rossburn Golf Club
The Rossburn Golf Club annual meeting on Tuesday March 19 approved the previous minutes and financial report. A motion to purchase a tractor and to affiliate with the Manitoba Golf Association was passed. Harold Slon was named president with a slate of officers and committees elected for the coming year.

The March Rossburn United Church Women meeting with 18 members approved a rummage sale for May 18. They discussed fundraisers, sending get well cards, adopting a war torn child option, and coordinating a table runner project. Committee members Pritchard McFeeters McTavish Armstrong will collect articles and nylons for shipping to Korea. Tea hosts were Taylor Fulford and McFeetors.

Grant Rink Wins First At Vista Ladies Bonspiel
Grant Rink wins first in the Vista Ladies Bonspiel with 1st Diane Grant Rossburn and 2nd Nettie Hrysak Vista in the first event. Second event honors go to Mrs Moan Rossburn and runner up Margaret Young Hamiota. Twelve rinks entered. warm weather delayed games to Monday night. organizers thank volunteers and the draw-master.

Rossburn Ice Carnival Draws Record Crowd
Nearly 1,000 spectators attended the Rossburn Arena for the Lions Club 1968 Ice Carnival. The event featured a flag raising, Mani toba Centennial Drummer Boys, costume judging, an ice revue by the Rossburn Figure Skating Club, and the crowning of Carnival Queen Theresa Perchaluk with princesses Ann Kozun and Diane Pawluk. Local officials spoke on the Manitoba Growing To Beat 70 theme, and novelty events including a log sawing contest and Bucking Bronco ended the night with Lions entertaining the crowd.
