Rossburn seniors host herbalist and Alzheimer seminar week

The Rossburn and District Service for Seniors hosted events including Lisa Braun a Nee pāwa herbalist presenting on herbs and vitamins. The Alzheimer Society seminar and St Pat bingo were held with upcoming plans for movies, bingo, bowling in Russell, and a flea market display bake sale at the Ukrainian People's Home. Waywayseecappo School honored by Heart and Stroke Foundation

The Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba honored Waywayseecappo School on March 14 for 10 years of Jump Rope for Heart participation. The school has raised nearly $6,000 over nine years, supporting heart health and community spirit.

Spiritual care plans debated by Marquette health board

The Marquette Regional Health Authority board discussed forming a spiritual care committee but decided to table the idea for a year. Existing community committees currently meet spiritual care needs. CEO Sandra Delorme reported strong turnout at a Neepawa meeting on a new personal care home to replace East View Lodge. The board is nearing two permanent physicians for Rossburn District Health Centre while Shoal Lake doctors cover short term. Unfunded items and funding gaps were reviewed and the CEO was asked to develop budget balancing options.
