Taxpayer petitions for smoking ban in Rossburn facilities
Gerald Nychuk leads a taxpayer petition drive in Rossburn Town and Rural Municipality to ban smoking in public facilities. A 1995 referendum backed a ban in the Community Hall Skating Arena and Agri Rec Centre, but council deferred action citing differing opinions and RM involvement. The campaign gathered 511 signatures for prohibition versus 90 for continuation, with residents calling for immediate bans and criticizing council handling.
