Westman Cable TV received approval to extend services to Rossburn Shoal Lake Erickson Hamiota Pilot Mound Glenboro Elkhorn Mc Creary Minitonas and Winnipegosis. The co op will carry CBC and CTV signals plus The Sports Network Nashville Network Cable News Network Arts and Entertainment Network and MuchMusic with at least three additional channels to each community. Construction starts later this year.

Lions Festival Brings Warm Weekend Fun to Rossburn
Rossburn Lions Club hosted a Winter Festival at Rossman Lake over a two day period with a strong turnout. Skating and broomball were canceled due to warm weather while Saturday featured a Rossburn Figure Skating Club program and the Luanna Mackedenski Memorial trophy for Most Dedicated Skater. Janelle McFeeters was crowned Winter Festival Queen with Deanie Kostesky and Reinada Yanyk as princesses. Sunday included an 8:00 A.M. Fish Derby registration and winner Joe Borowski for a Jack and Pickerel.

Rossburn Winter Festival Queen Crowned At Rossburn
Janelle McFeeters was named festival queen at a ceremony on March 1 after the Rossburn Figure Skating Club ice show. Lions Festival prizes went to Leslie Luhowy first and Keith Alexander second. Silent Skier winner was Ted Koroscil of Shoal Lake winning $10. A snowball game between CKLQ cumbersomes and Lions ended with no winner due to rule infractions. rematch planned for 1987.
