Social allowance exemption increase aids disabled family head
Family Services Minister Harold Glehamier announced higher exemption levels for social allowances. The cap for a disabled household rises from 2000 to 4000 dollars, while other recipients reach a 3000 dollar family maximum, up from 2000. The changes aim to improve access to liquid assets.

The Waterfowl committee names nine local farmers to join the Shoal Lake NAWMP Field Office advisory group to advise on field programs for wetland habitat. Members include Dean Ashcroft Birtle Lorne Chipelski Angusville Bruce Cochran Hamiota Garry Dunits Oakburn Murray Jenkins Shoal Lake Carolynne Nickel Solsgirth Ross Short Shoal Lake Leonard Sitko Rossburn and Maurice Skotlas Menzie. Technical staff from DU NAWF and MHHC will provide program updates and reports on incentives under Manitoba Prairie Care and Adopt-A Pothole projects.
