Pelly Trail Divisional Science Fair A Success
The Pelly Trail Science Fair on February 18, 1972 drew crowds as judges and students showcased projects. Winners in kindergarten to grade 6 were selected for entry in the Western Manitoba Science Fair in Brandon March 17–18, 1972, with top individuals and groups named across categories.

Ten teams have entered the Fourth Annual Open Midget Hockey Tournament at Angusville for Friday through Sunday March 3rd to 5th. Rossburn residents will switch from manual to automatic telephone service on Thursday April 13 as the Manitoba Telephone System completes equipment installation in the new Rossburn building. Seven digit numbers will appear in a supplementary directory before cutover.

Village Council Grants Taxicab Licence
The Rossburn Village Council met February 22 in the Council Chambers with Mayor Louis Kur chaba presiding. They approved a taxicab licence application and a taxicab stand subject to mutual approval, granted insurance for a fire truck, and allocated small grants to local organizations. The meeting also covered office closure for an accounting seminar, fees for the Manitoba Water and Waste School, and renegotiation of policing services with Manitoba.

Shoal Lake rink skipped by Ray Tole captured the Smith Trophy in the annual Bonspiel finishing first in the event. Twenty six rinks from Rossburn Vista Shoal Lake Sandy Lake Foxwarren and Oakburn competed in four events with Oakburn and Shoal Lake players posting top results and Oakburn Ladies earning regional success.
