The Rossburn Medical Nursing Unit Local Administrative Committee met June 17 1968 at 8 p.m. Vice-Chairman A Cleland chaired in W Perchaluk’s absence with J Cormack S Melnyk J Mitchell and S B Lewis present. May minutes approved. S B Lewis and A Cleland reported attending the Canadian Hospital Association convention in Vancouver May 29 31. A July ceremony planned to open a new hospital addition with a joint meeting with the Women’s Auxiliary to plan details. Tom Lawless painting exterior and moving signs. yard light upgraded to illuminate the eastern hospital lot. Architects requested contract changes totaling 273. Furniture for new waiting room purchased at 752. May financials reviewed. total May cheques: 10 026.16. J Cormack moved adjournment.

Official Opening of Nick's Store in Rossburn
The new Nick's Clothing and Footwear Store premises opened last Thursday June 20 in Rossburn marking a progressive project by Mr Nick Stupinsky. Crowds attended from ribbon cutting to close, enjoying clothing bargains coffee and free gifts as part of the gala opening. A feature photo of the modern retail building will appear in a future issue.

Diamond Wedding Anniversary for Antonichuk Couple
Mr and Mrs John Antonichuk of Toronto formerly Rossburn celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on June 16 1968. Grandson Jerry Parsons received a scroll from Ontario premier John Robarts on behalf of the government. A copper on wood plaque from Sask cousin Harry Yarmey and telegrams from MPs also arrived. The couple thanks everyone for the congratulations.

The Village of Rossburn council, led by Mayor J W Cormack, approved minutes from the prior meeting. The May 1968 financial report and 1967 auditor's statement were adopted. a $10 business licence fee was set for the jeweller for 1968. motions carried.
