Manitoba U-Pick Strawberries Ahead in July
Manitoba Agriculture reports strawberries will be ready the first week of July with large berries and average to below average yields due to winter injury and spring frosts. Prices will rise slightly from last year as new farms expand in the southwest, and growers advise phoning ahead to confirm maturing varieties and picking conditions. Copies of the Where To Find Farms brochure are available from Manitoba Tourist Information Centres Parks Branch Stations or by calling the Citizen's Inquiry Service.
