Inspector E Reid visited Marco school on Friday. Mike Kitz and Peter Dymterko drove to Birtles on Wednesday for business. Jack Zimmerman drove to Brandon on Thursday for business. Mrs Matt Prosak of Fort William attended her brother Tom Charmey's wedding on June 13. Nick Kapac left last Thursday for a visit to his hometown at Bredenburg Sask. Debn Kukuruz drove him to Shoal Lake to meet the train.
Patriotic verse urges Canadians to support the war effort by saving rubber and scrap, turning them in to salvage bases, and buying war bonds. Authored by Elsie Kivym from a school, it promotes unity and liberty through civilian participation.
Congratulations to Mr and Mrs W Belbas on the birth of a son. We learn that Mr W Brykaluk is recovering from a stroke at Russell Sacred Heart Hospital. A birthday tea at Mrs W Maxwell Sr home hosted by Mrs A Joiner, Mrs Cleland and Mrs Maxwell, with a dainty tea for a good crowd. The late Mr W Crookshanks sale lunch proceeds of about 60 dollars went to Ranchvale Red Cross and Soldiers Aid to be shared.
H W W Johnston reports selling 13400 dollars in bonds in ward 5 and about 20000 across wards 1 and 21, praising Oakburn Ukrainian residents and Duncan McKenzie for driving him. He thanks supporters and credits farmers for backing the war against Hitler and Mussolini.
