Rats under control at Rossburn landfill site
Rossburn village seeks to curb a growing rat problem at the landfill after a wet winter prevented proper covering. Mayor Shirley Kalyniuk notes increased burrow activity and potential spread. Poulins from Brandon have begun weekly granular burrow treatments with positive results. The council plans new pits east of the site after full storage, and discusses composting garbage as garden fertilizer alongside revised collection days.
