Military wed ding unites Schablers in Kenora at St Alban's
On Saturday May 12 at 4 pm St Alban's Pro Cathedral hosted a military wedding for Loctite Mary Schabler daughter of Leo Schabler of Kenora and Qnd LA. Percy James Graves son of Mr. and Mrs. Percy Graves of Cochenour Ontario. Canon G M Wyatt officiated with a double ring ceremony and first communion service. The bride wore a nylon net and rose point lace gown with rhinestone bodice and a floral veil, carrying American Beauty roses. Bridesmaids wore red nylon taffeta gowns and lilies. Attendants included Lt Harold Sampson best man and Sgts Bob Marchant Jim Treleven ushers. A guard of honour featured captains and dress blues. After a family dinner at Kenwood Hotel a reception at Armouries followed for about 160 guests. The couple honeymooned to points East and will reside in Truro Nova Scotia. Out of town guests included Mr and Mrs Wm Huls Mr Job Schabler and Mr and Mrs Phil Nault.

Rural Council June Meeting in Rossburn
The Rural Municipality of Rossburn council met at the municipal office on Saturday June 2 with the Reeve and all members present. Ernie Forsythe of Westeel attended dinner, minutes and financial report were adopted, and three assistance applications were approved. A Vista light addition was approved. Ward Three requested a grant road relocation which was not accepted due to policy and timing. The council adjourned to meet July 7.

Severe storm strikes Olha to Rossburn region on Tuesday
A Saturday night electrical storm over Olha to Rossburn was followed by a far more extensive storm on Tuesday afternoon. The downpour covered a wide area from Vista to the Minnedosa Valley south of Erickson with heavy rainfall and rapid highway flooding.
