Butler hosts meeting at Birdtail Women's Institute
The May meeting at Freda Butler's home had eleven members present. Topics included roll call with Mother's Day gifts, adoption of minutes and treasurer's reports, attendance at the National Volunteer Tea, and plans for a birthday party at the Health Centre on May 26. Members discussed inscribing five more names on a cairn, donating to the Children’s Miracle Telethon on CBC TV June 4 and 5, and hosting a bursary donation. A provincial convention report highlighted lifestyle resolution 205. The jackpot went to Renske Kaastra, and the next meeting will be at Karen Bergeson's on June 2.

Female driver charged after RCMP reports May offences
The Rossburn Detachment says on May 21 a female was charged with driving over .08 and driving without a licence. A May 21 fight at a Lizard Point Indian Reserve residence led to a male charged with assault. On May 24 an Elphinstone area motor vehicle crash required RCMP assistance. Also May 24 a possible break in at Olha district was reported. A May 25 break in in the Park district is under investigation. Two children on Lizard Point Indian Reserve were bitten by a dog. one was treated and released, the other admitted to hospital.

Rossburn Health Centre hosts Family Dance with contests
The Rossburn District Health Centre Auxiliary MO NA and nurses sponsored a Canada Health Day Family Dance last month. A colouring contest drew 78 entries for grades K to 6, an essay contest 37 entries for grades 7 to 9, and a seniors essay contest with one entry. Winners include Myles Hrubeniuk Tracy Carson Travis Shastko Rhonda Hrycak Ashley Sokolan Erin Heneghan Cathy Dutchak Tricia Herrmann Veronica Mann and Braden Lonsberry. Judges were Lori Keen Joyce Leganchuk Myrtle Gachuk Marlene Penner and Ernie Antonow.
