Rossburn Fair and Sports Highlights 33rd Exhibition

The 33rd Rossburn Fair opened with a bright morning as exhibitors arrived. Poultry cattle and horses numbers were down but the stock shown was superior, and vegetables flowers and ladies crafts impressed. Children and bicycle races along with a Tug of War climaxed events. A Red Cross fundraiser calf weight guessing raised 38.50. Baseball and hardball contests favored Vista. The hall dance drew nearly 400 dancers with Angusville Orchestra providing lively music.

Fair Notes Exhibition Praised for Order and Prizes

Prize money will be paid shortly. Mrs Wm Brown and daughter Sarah won 20 prizes from 20 articles. A staff of police were on hand but not required. The exhibition was a success and the President Secretary and Committee are to be congratulated for their management.

Fishing at Deep Lake opened July 1 and reports say fish bite fairly well. Community events: dance and draw at Mears on Saturday. Lightning struck chimney at John Semeniuk house. A large Inter-provincial Picnic at Maige Lave Benito Beach drew 4000 attendees raising 640 for Red Cross. The Crookshanks family reunion at Rossburn hosted 46 guests with lively games and a total attendee age of 1687 years.
