A 1992 Ford diesel ambulance costing $60,000 was bought for Rossburn and District Health Centre. Funds came from the Rossburn Community Ambulance fund with grants from Rural Municipality and Village of Rossburn. The old 10 year old unit will be sold by consignment.
Rural Development Minister Len Derkach announced second quarter grants to regional groups including The Westman Economic Development Association Inc and the Parkland West Regional Development Committee. The Westman group gets $23,250 and Parkland West $10,032 to support rural Manitoba economic development and diversification.
The Village of Rossburn 1992 budget received final reading on June 9. Residential taxpayers face a slim tax increase, while commercial taxes fall from 8 to 4 percent, delivering net savings for many businesses.
