BU Horticulture Hotline Opens for Plant Queries
Brandon University hosts a public Horticultural Hotline funded by the Manitoba Department of Agriculture, BU, and Chipman. Since starting 12 years ago it logged over 1,000 queries and 200 field inspections last year, with Botany Department staff and Dr. Bill Paton supervising. The service operates from the fifth floor Buddie Sater Building on campus, staffed by BU students and faculty, and reachable at 726-8637 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday.

Manitoba plans photocard driver licence program rollout
Manitoba will photograph 670000 drivers in the first two years to set up a four year renewal cycle for photocard production. A four dollar annual licence fee increase will finance the program, paid by the user. The system splits into two parts a photo ID card renewed every four years and a current driver licence insured certificate renewed each year.
