10th Annual Birdtail Valley Rodeo Delivers Crowded, Celebratory Day
The Birdtail Valley Riders wrapped their 10th annual rodeo with added Ladies and Little Britches events. Gymkhanna results feature multiple winners led by Jerry Brennan and Doug Bergeson. Cheryl Smith won the Ladies all round trophy and Oliver Blackbird shared the Little Britches all round honor with Darcy Smith. Allan Smith and Jerry Brennan tied for Sr. all round rodeo, as Art and Bella Butler were honored for their 25th wedding anniversary with a club plaque and pot luck finale.

Winnipeg announces the unveiling of a commemorative plaque for Dr. Frank Leith Skinner a Dropmore Manitoba horticulturalist and plant propagator born in Scotland who turned a hobby into a successful nursery operation near Skinner's Nursery 1.2 km east of Highway 83 and 33 km north of Russell The ceremony Sunday July 12 at 3 00 P M hosted by the Historic Sites Advisory Board of Manitoba marks one of about 50 plaques across the province recognizing notable historical figures sites events and buildings.
