Race meet in Rossburn hosts nine heats on July 11
The Manitoba Quarter Horse Racing Association stages a Rossburn meet on Sunday July 11 at 1:00 PM with nine heats including the Manitoba Sire Stakes Trials. No parimutuel betting at this event sponsored by the Rossburn Agricultural Society. The 4-H Beef Club Achievement Day joins the racing at the Rossburn Agricultural Grounds.

A class of twenty nine Grade 12 students received diplomas at Rossburn Collegiate graduation on Monday June 28. Mike Bidochka and W E Stefanuk presented diplomas. Valedictorian Marianne Hryciuk and guest speaker Dennis Kaskin addressed grads alongside awards and bursaries for students including Danny Reles and Ron Drul who earned multiple honors.

Pensioners to get eyeglass assistance
Health Minister Larry Desjardins announced a $50 deductible Eyeglass Assistance Program for Manitobans aged 65 plus. The Manitoba Health Services Commission will cover 80 percent of costs in excess of the deductible for dispensing fees frames and lenses with caps reflecting typical charges and special cases, including post cataract prescriptions.
