Rural Manitobans to gain cable options under new policy
Manitoba plans to allow cable firms to build and own systems in communities without service reversing the old lease rule with Manitoba Telephone System. Minister Glen Findlay said about 240 small towns lack cable and more than 60 new systems could start, creating rural jobs during construction. Applications must go to the CRTC with formal licensing expected this spring.
