White Cane Week marks evolving awareness campaign in Canada
The Canadian Council of the Blind and CNIB initiated White Cane Week in 1946 to educate the public that the white cane signals serious visual impairment. This year the week runs February 3 to 9, with events across more than 60 CNIB centres and 95 CCB clubs coast to coast, evolving to reflect blind and visually impaired needs.

Rossburn volleyball wins gold at Parkland Winter Games
The Rossburn team took gold in competitive play at the Parkland Winter Games held January 19 at Rossburn Collegiate gym. They beat Grandview 15-8 15-10 in the final after a round robin where Rossburn went 7-1 along with Grandview. Camperville 4-4 Onanole 2-6 and Swan River 0-8. Onanole defeated Swan River 15-13 15-13 to win the recreational gold.

Manitoba to implement home video classification system
Manitoba introduces a home video rating system with new 18 classification to restrict access to成人 and graphic content. Special stickers will appear on films and retailers must classify new videos before distribution with licensing of retailers and distributors to ensure compliance.
