Pact designed to aid C I in Western Canada
A seven party agreement aims to sustain C I P Ltd presence in the prairie provinces with Canada Manitoba Saskatchewan and Alberta governments the Canadian Cooperative Credit Society and Vicon Inc. The deal keeps 36 depots over 3 provinces and 250 staff, with Vicon managing C I for one year starting November 1 1985. Vicon will provide discounts and buy part of the inventory while C I retains a credit line of up to 12 million from C C C S and loan guarantees totaling 12.5 million remain interest free for one year. Forgiveness of 1982 provincial loans 7 million and 8.4 million repayable Canada funds will occur over four years to preserve C I as a regional farm implement distributor.
