Rossburn hosts 1967 Centennial curling bonspiel with 48 rinks and all local communities within 30 miles represented. Twenty four Centennial Trophies awarded to winning rinks, with top placements listed for Shoal Lake Silverton Rossburn Oakburn Russell Birtle Angusville Elphinstone and others. The Village Council of Rossburn met January 17, 1967 in the council chambers. Attendees included Mayor Peter Wladyka and councillors Antoniw Baubie Komhyr Verbowski and Bau bie. The Rossburn Ladies Bonspiel opened with 14 rinks entered Friday. Winners in the first event include Marion Onufricine from Binscarth Cake Servers, Lorna Veitch with Alarm Clocks, Olive McTavish with Ash Trays, and Mrs Klym with Glasses. Lois Melnyk led Salad Bowls, Barbara Fink led Coffee Craft, Marion Kostuik with Cookies, Gwen Hoffman with Travelling Clocks, and Jean Mervyn with Lighters. A pot luck supper followed.

Wednesday evening bingo drew a large crowd with multiple winners. Prizes included 15 and 25 dollar awards and several four dollar ties among participants from Angusville and surrounding areas.

Mr and Mrs Murray Olynyk and son David left for Vancouver by train from St Lazare after visiting friends and relatives at Angusville and Russell during the festive season. Miss Florence Syrnyk flew home to Dauphin from Elphinstone to spend Sunday with her parents. Mr Albert Berney curled with a Rossburn rink last week. Grazing and Hay Permits Discussed for Riding Mountain Park
In 1966 Riding Mountain National Park issued 22 hay permits and 54 grazing permits. At June 1 about 1,264 cattle were under permits and an estimated 1,000 grazed without permits, reduced to around 150 by September 15 after enforcement. Local interest in a community pasture is lacking, and grazing without permits is expected to end. grazing in the park may be forbidden soon.
