Prairie snowplanes mark Prairie winters and inventors
Fred McGuinness recalls prairie snow machines from Oxbow to Gimli, noting farmer inventors delivered children, whippet conversions, and early firms like Karl Lorch and Robert Fudge. He highlights homemade designs, trials in curling rinks, and a revival sparked by Chris Kristianson, urging readers to enjoy winter or build their own snowmobile.
