MEARS Pie Henry Kitler returns home on leave to relatives in the dis district. Lord greeted by Mr and Mrs Hary Kemiar their son Pie Koy seriously wounded in action in Italy. Mr Nick Kohuch, district resident, in Winnipeg for military call up. Gor Roy Kobach stationed at Sidney Nova Scotia visits parents on leave. Miss Mary Budz, Mohyla teacher, back in district after holidays with family in Marco district. Crmelayckis school opens term, teachers and pupils enjoy holidays. Nick Sievick leaves for Windsor Ohio to visit brother and relatives. Mr and Mrs Worpyk depart for Winnipeg to visit the latter's parents.
Oakburn residents record Ukrainian Christmas visits and local customs. Visitors from Winnipeg join Mrs Panechuk’s home for the holidays, while local schools reopen after renovation. The piece notes Christmas observances from Holy Night to St Stephen’s Day and Greek Catholic services.

Scout leaders and patrols attended a three day meet in Shoal Lake. Mrs J J Bowley returned home with son Melvin. An RCAF training plane made a forced landing on Mr John Rystvlo’s farm. Ellwood Alexander saved a plane and likely a life. Hugh McDonald visiting Dutcanson home en route to Yorkton. Pte M Yachymchuk Rossburn in Holland front patrol of 11 men. Rough hockey game Rosburn vs Wycollapse Reserve. 5 7 Rosburn. Bowley acted as referee. Sgt Lloyd Warnock recovering from Aug 6 wound in France, now instructing in Paratroop Battalion. Rosburn School now open for skating Wed Fri Sat, no charge. Donations welcomed to help expenses. Dance in hall Friday night. Editorial notes about Cross Bonspiel and munitions impacts on industry.
