Roy Saley, Rossburh native, dies at 61 in Solegirth
Roy Saley of Rossburh Manitoba died suddenly on December 15 at Solegirth aged 61. Born in Austria he came to Canada in 1910 and farmed near Mears before moving to Roseburn in 1955. He is survived by wife Nellie three sons Ernest Tony Reymond and two daughters plus ten grandchildren and siblings. Funeral held December 18 at Ukr Ukrainian Greek Orthodox Church Rossburn with interment at Parish Cemetery. Rae's Funeral Home handled arrangements.

Fatal car crash claims Danny Oryniak of Rossburn
Danny Oryniak 20 of Rossburn was killed in a December 21 accident near Roblin. He is survived by his parents Mr. and Mrs. Alex Oryniak and a sister Mildred Strank and brother Frankie. Funeral service followed prayers at the Ukr. People’s Home Rossburn with burial in Rossburn Cemetery and pallbearers named. Raginski Funeral Home Oakburn handled arrangements.

Successful Hockey Tournament Ends With Tight Finals
The Rossburn Juveniles with help from veteran players edged Brandon C and C in overtime to win second prize of $50. Elphinstone captured first prize with $100 after outclassing the local Juveniles in the final. Brandon C and C had beaten Shoal Lake earlier, while Elphinstone defeated Foxwarren Juveniles.

Rossburn Women's Institute Opens 1966 Sessions
The Rossburn Women's Institute held its first 1966 meeting in the annex on Tuesday January 4 at 3 00 p m. O Canada and the Creed opened the session. Officers were elected with reappointments including President Mrs A McIntosh and Treas Mrs A Snider. A social portion followed and lunch was served by Mrs Snider and Mrs H Alexander. Next meeting to be at Mrs Howard Alexander home with meetings in homes until spring.
