A December 24 joint service brought together Protestant churches in Rossburn at the Town Hall. Mayor E Moffat opened with remarks applauded by attendees. Pastors W B Eaton J Y Garrett and H D Johnstone led segments focused on the Christmas story as a mixed choir sang carols and performances by Mrs J Y Garrett and Shirley Stitt with John Coughlan were enjoyed.

The council okayed minutes from the last meeting. They set licenses and salaries, appointed officers including Health Officer Dr Johnson and Fire Chief O R Hodge, and created finance and indemnity figures. They planned dog and drag licenses with dates and fees and named delegates to the Brandon convention.
Ukrainian Christmas Observed On January Seventh In Julian Calendar
Ukrainian communities celebrate Christmas on January 7 under the Julian calendar. Families share a candlelit dinner of twelve meatless dishes led by the head of the household, then exchange gifts after midnight. The feast features Katia, a wheat dish with honey, poppy seeds and mushrooms, followed by church attendance and a second dinner. Decorations stay up until January 14.

Rossburn High School rink, led by Murray Cormack with Gart Lindsay Melvin Stitt and John Mitchell, played five games in Winnipeg during Christmas week. The team failed to win trophies or prizes but enjoyed the event. MacLaren Hotel provided lodging via the Rossburn Review.

Respected Vista Citizen Called To Eternal Rest
Theodore Otto Miller 66 of Vista Manitoba died suddenly December 28 1950 at his home. Born Ayton Ontario he moved to Manitoba over 50 years ago farming then living in Vista. He married Lillian Lowe in 1912 at Wellwood. Surviving wife two daughters Mrs John Menzies Gimli and Mrs Robert Cowan Russell and one son Robert Peace River Alberta. Funeral December 30 Vista United Church burial Rossburn cemetery pallbearers listed. Mrs T Miller and family express thanks for sympathy and flowers.
