Rossburn Community Centre ready to open
The Rossburn Community Centre and Rossburn Regional Library move to the new premises this week. Total project value is about 110000 with grants from provincial and federal governments and local fundraising totaling around 20 thousand. The building committee appeals for donations to cover roughly 14000 in outstanding expenses.

Oakburn Elevator Restored From Leaning Tower Title
A Manitoba Pool Elevator in Oakburn, nicknamed the leaning tower of Pisa for a 30 inch northward tilt, has been straightened. A seven member crew lifted the structure, added wooden facings, and used twelve 50 ton jacks to correct the lean. Repairs began January 27 and were to wrap up the following week.

Rossburn RM holds Feb 9 1981 council meeting
The Rural Municipality of Rossburn met at 10 00 A M in the council chambers on February 9 1981 with Reeve Mitchell presiding. Minutes from earlier meetings were read and financial statements for December 1980 and January 1981 were received. several by laws for 1981 were discussed and passed including remuneration, secretary treasurer salary, and employee wages. Donations totaling 130 be approved to local charities. Council set 1981 library grant at one mill about 3250 with noted audit fee increase and levy specifics.
