William Wesley Crookshanks died February 8 atussell Hospital. Born 1875 in Millbank Ontario he homesteaded near Rossburn since 1900. Unmarried he survived by brothers Sam Rossburn Tom Stratford Ontario sisters Eliza Stratford and Mrs Tanner Millbank. A Loyal Orange Lodge member he will be remembered especially on July 12. Mr Wm McDonald of Dominion City marked his 103rd birthday on a Monday in February born in Dufftown Scotland he came to America in 1896 and farmed in North Dakota before settling in Dominion City He enjoys outdoor life and maintains a garden and wood pile He and his wife who died in 1917 left three children and many grandchildren and great grandchildren
Nas P Crump visited with WF Nee Pted. Mr Jim Brown had a cow killed on the highway last Thursday. Miss Dorothy McDonald of the RCAF spent days with sister Mrs L Hamilton. Mr M Halliday and Mr F Steele left for Winnipeg to join His Majesty forces. Vista Community congratulates Mr and Mrs J Strong of Ossbuch on wedding anniversary in February. The WMS and Ladies Aid met at Mrs D McIntyre on February 3. A quilt was donated to the Red Cross.
Mr Mike Bushka visited Winnipeg last week. Mr Harry Boychuk plans a sawmill on his farm and will start using it soon. Mr and Mrs Alex Oryniak visited Mr Wa Brykaliuk Sunday. Mrs Joe Wladyka is ill but recovering. Miss Vennie Pomibhiehsk of Krd tail spent a weekend with friends. The Box Social at Ukrainian Peoples Home Feb 6 drew a good crowd and box es sold well. Bill Oberniak left for Winnipeg to seek war industry work. Larry Werbowski narrowly escaped when his horse spooked and jumped the road. wheels on Fr Maxwell’s roadside item should be removed.
