Impaired Driver Numbers Drop in Manitoba STEP Report
RCMP data show a drop in impaired drivers caught during the STEP from December 1 to January 1. This year 91 drivers were detected, down from 115 last year, while vehicle checks fell from 22 800 to 9 530. Fatal collisions totaled three with three deaths, down from eight and 10, and injury collisions dropped from 89 to 53. The average blood alcohol level among those caught was .15 versus .155 previously.
