Journey For Sight Ride Raises Local Funds in Manitoba
The Lion's Club snowmobile event began Jan 21 in Flin Flon and traveled across Manitoba to Neepawa, with Rossburn riders Vince Kurchaba Tom Lawless Brad Gensiorek Ray Bilinsky Darren Bilinsky Rick Kostecki Nelson Luhowy Sonny Richards Greg Marchischuk and Ken Ament participating. Local riders joined stops at Oakburn Elphinstone Sandy Lake Erickson Minnedosa with nearly 60 participants. All funds support the Eye Bank of Manitoba.

Riders traveled along No 45 to Neepawa Minnedosa and Rossburn volunteers and Lions members helped raise about 2000 in pledges. The group rode to Portage and Brandon then gathered at Harrys Ukrainian Kitchen before returning snowmachines home with help from Richard Bilinsky.

Rossburn Town Council held a special meeting to consider an adult rental housing proposal. Mayor Shirley Kalyniuk and councillors heard Jim Butler propose a single storey fourplex with 720 sq ft units and in house laundry, plus front and back entrances. Pre sales would be required before construction, with a follow up to gather taxation, renter interest, and other details for another meeting.
