A Board of Grain Commissioners bulletin reports western Canadian barley harvest at 284 million bushels with malting quality excellent. About 35 percent of carloads entered malting grades and 30 percent No 1 Feed, while mean protein sits around 10.5 to 11.1 percent in Manitoba Alberta and Saskatchewan. Judging for the National Barley Contest will follow after the New Year.

Pool Elevator And Annexes Destroyed By Saturday Fire
A fire at the Pool Elevator in Rossburn Saturday evening destroyed the elevator and two annexes holding about 60,000 bushels of grain. The elevator valued at $50,000 with grain loss undetermined, salvage may recover much of the grain. Neighbors were called from Angusville Russell Shoal Lake and Oakburn for help. this is Rossburn’s second assist call in two months. A crew cleared rubble Monday and loaded salvageable grain onto grain cars. Local town officials and residents discuss fire protection and suggest better equipment and support for smaller fires.

Rink Schedule And Skating Fees For 1952-53 Season
