A speedy recovery is wished to Wilfred Palmer who returned home Sunday after a week in Russell Hospital. Room Ill welcomes two new school pals Earnest Hasiuk and Willie Bonchuk. When a woman driver sticks out her hand while driving it means one thing the window is open.
Town Hall bans cards on the tree this year while boxes in each school room will store and sort Christmas cards on December 22. The Young People's Union hosts a special evening December 12 with Crockinole and homemade candy.
The Rossburn Co operative Association held its annual meeting in the Town Hall on Monday November 28 with the largest attendance since formation. A banquet for ninety five plus a post banquet meeting showed a substantial year end surplus and a 5000 distribution to members. Manitoba Pool Elevators presented a 3000 donation to the Hospital Board. Vista Pool Elevator celebrated its twenty fifth anniversary with a dinner for sixty and a director slate update.
Lorraine Eleanor Alexander married Lloyd G. F. Warnock on November 26 1949 at St Pauls United Church Winnipeg with Rev D B Sparling officiating. The couple will reside at 242 igtor Street Winnipeg after a reception at the St Regis Oak Room and a dance with 100 guests.
Card thanks contributors for the Bryan School Tea and Sale which raised 47 dollars. Gratitude extended to Mr Menzies for showroom use, lunch servers, and all helpers including the five Rossburn girls who assisted wait staff. Mrs Komhyr and pupils expressed appreciation.
A meeting in the Club Room on November 30 organized the Rossburn and District Ladies Hospital Aid Society. Mrs. J G Stitt was elected president with Mrs. Wm Kachan as vice president and Mrs S Ukrainetz as secretary treasurer. Committees formed include Constitution drafting chaired by Mrs J Lindsay and Ways and Means chaired by Mrs B Mitchell. Members invited through Mrs H Huston.
