Life of a Deiter Mr Brown Pioneer to Birdtail

The reminiscence follows Alexander Brown and companions from Listowel Ontario to Birdtail Manitoba beginning spring 1880. It recalls crossing the Red River by boat, choosing homesteads near Neepawa and Broadfoot, building a thatch roofed house, making furniture with an axe, and hauling logs for early settlement. Brown returns for supplies, teams with Dan Hamilton, and travels with Sandy Stewart. A storm interrupts the journey between Gladstone and Neepawa, ending with continued notes on back page.
