December Women’s Institute Meeting in Rossburn
The Rossburn Women’s Institute held its December meeting in the church annex with 18 members attending. President Mrs Edna Alexander led a brief business session and presented the annual report. Members brought candy boxes for Deer Lodge Hospital and $5 was sent to CARE. Christmas gifts were exchanged and a lunch was served by Mrs G Stewart, Mrs M Stitt and Mrs E Alexander. The January meeting will feature Miss Batho, Home Economist, Shoal Lake, on metal picture tooling.

Year End Report For Rossburn W I Club
Members average sixteen with nineteen visitors across eleven meetings. The club sponsored National Film Board films and Red Cross Blood Donor Clinic, ran a lending library, hosted tea for district grandmothers, canvassed for the blind, and supported nursing needs. They donated to the local high school scholarship fund CARE UNICEF and sent homemade candy to Deer hospital patients. Conventions were attended in Foxwarren and Brandon with officers elected: President S P Ukrainetz and officers including Langrid and H McIn.

Rossburn Couple Marks Silver Wedding Anniversary
Mr and Mrs Alfred Mitchell celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary at home with about 60 guests signing the guest book. Family sent red roses and a silver tea service, and a three tier cake was displayed. Out of town guests included relatives from Saskatoon Rivers and Winnipeg.

Funeral Rites for Joseph Bartkiw in Petlura Church
Funeral services were held at the Petlura Ukrainian Catholic Church on November 22 for Joseph Bartkiw of Grandview Manitoba who died November 17, 1958 at age 81 after a brief illness. Sneath Funeral Service arranged with interment in Parish cemetery. Surviving Antonia his wife two sons John Gladstone Peter Toronto two daughters Frances MacDonald Yorkton Alice Matskiw twelve grandchildren eight great grandchildren one daughter Ann Schawarski Redsburn predeceased him in April 1958.

Long-Time Elphinstone Resident Passes Away
Mrs Isabella Mary Sin clair, a longtime Elphinstone resident, died at Winnipeg General Hospital on Monday morning November 24. Born August 20, 1892, she married John Sinclair in 1910 and farmed in Elphinstone for 39 years. Survived by six sons, five daughters, seventeen grandchildren, one great grandchild, and four sisters. Funeral conducted at Elphinstone Presbyterian Church on November 27 with pallbearers among her sons. burial at the Bend cemetery. Arrangements by Rae's Funeral Home.
