The Day Music Returned in Kabul After Taliban Rule
Bill Hall reflects on Afghanistan’s return to music as Kabul emerges from Taliban control. He recalls the brutal regime against women and culture, praises renewed street music and public listening, and contrasts tyranny with the resilience of Afghan people who reclaim song after years of ban. He notes the broader impact of music as a universal human voice.
