Solar powered water pump demo at Clement Farm Equipment
On August 1 local farmers watched a solar pump demonstration at Clement Farm Equipment. The unit pumped 15 gallons per minute from 15 feet below ground, powered by eight solar panels and two 12 volt batteries to a 24 volt motor. The automatic system avoids daily starting and stopping, ideal where power is unavailable or costly. The demo unit could service 100 head of cattle and cost about 1300 with potential grant funding. solar pumps require little maintenance.
