Manitoba reports first quarter deficit of 175.4 million
Finance Minister Eugene Kostyra released the April to June 1986-87 quarterly report showing a net operating deficit of 175.4 million, up from last year’s 181.6 million and above the 148 million projection by 27.4 million. Expenditures totaled 977.5 million while revenues reached 767.7 million, with timing differences cited as the main cause and no revised year-end forecast possible.
