A new EcoCentre at the Rossburn landfill accepts used oil oil filters and containers for recycling. A 4500 litre steel tank stores purified oil until collected by a carrier for recycling. The project cost about $22 000 with half funded by MARC.
Manitoba highways minister Darren Praznik announced a broad raise in the maximum speed limit on 83 provincial roads and trunk highways to 100 kilometres per hour where road surface and traffic flow allow. He noted these are maximums and drivers must follow current conditions. The Highway Traffic Board reviewed a substantial list of roads.
At a Town of Rossburn Council meeting the Group of Seven announced plans to form an economic union to study a strawboard plant for the area and to pursue regional development. The group also seeks a meeting with RCMP to discuss policing reductions while council set a $750 fund for economic research and noted various utility and maintenance agenda items.
