Church schedule notes for Rossburn and Kelloe with multiple service times. Rossburn shows no divine service at 11.00 am and 7.30 pm church school at 2.30 pm and 3.00 pm. Kelloe hosts a divine service at 7.20 pm. Welcome for all.
The Review office will not publish from August 17 to 19 as staff take a two week break and the editor attends the Canadian Weekly Newspaper Association Contention in Winnipeg. The office remains open for job work and money handling on other dates, and budgets should be withheld until Saturday August 26.
Mr Ernie Lillie and Elgin visited in Vista on Friday. Mr and Mrs Wes McIntosh visited at Win Stitt s on Thursday. Andrew Belinski motored to Brandon on Tuesday. The dance last Friday night was a great success. Miss Alice Baker returned to Toronto after a short visit at home. Mr and Mrs D McIntyre and family and Dick Baker motored to Clear Lake on Sunday. A A Forde motored to Winnipeg on Monday. Sam Maliation had a runaway team and rake, with a bad shaking up. Verna McIntyre and Margaret Hay returned home from Summer School. Robert Baker of Halifax is home on furlough. Corporal and Mrs S Hamilton and family returned to Wog. Pte and Mrs L Halliday and Mrs W Hilliday of BC are visiting briefly. Born to Pte and Mrs C Doucet a son.
Kay Oryniak has enlisted in the WACs while families in Winnipeg and nearby towns noted visits and returns. The Soldier’s Aid and Red Cross met at Mrs. Kosteczki’s with thirteen members and three visitors. Several letters of thanks arrived from overseas servicemen, and condolences are extended to the York family for their son Leslie’s death in action overseas.

Miss Violet Crosby of Winnipeg visits at Mr and Mrs Paul Chuchmuc home. Miss Rose Hyra of Winnipeg holidaying with her mother. Mr Allan Chuchmuch leaves for Winnipeg to pursue barber course. Mrs Gibbons ill wishes for speedy recovery. Mr Wm Calen leaves for Fort William for work. Pte Edward Gallant of Winnipeg on 48 hour leave. Matt Stefanyskyn and Mike Halewski of Sudbury arrive for a month holiday. Mr Sam Wowk and Mr Hasiuk with others drive to Deloraine for Mrs Frank Rudick’s towers event. Large Ruthenia crowd attends new hall event July 30 supper and address by Rev Shwed. dance follows.
Mr Sam Severchuk returns home after a month in Russell Hospital. John Gensiorek back for haying then to Selsgirth job. Mike Fiel and Mr and Mrs Mike Gensiorek with Jean and Jobo visit P Tucker in Selsgirth. Jean Gensiorek returns to Winnipeg after a month's holiday with her parents. Pete Cherwonick of Chicago visits two weeks with friends. Mr and Mrs Anne Kobuch G Anne of Isabella visit relatives. Nick Kobuch joins them to work locally. Residents attend Ruthenia ball July 39 with grand time. Seven year old son of Mike Saley taken to Shoal Lake hospital for toner operation Thursday.
