Mrs W J Smith and Marlene Osburn of Winnipeg visit the Lindsays. Mona Lindsay and Etta Peikoff left for Winnipeg. Margaret Carscadden Selsgirth has taken a position at the Bank of Toronto. The McFarlanes of Russell spent the weekend with the Alexanders. Eleanor Bowley and Arlene Ford of Roblin visit their Bowley parents. S Charney of Vancouver returned home after visiting. Joe Schawarski and mother went to Winnipeg for a few days. Joan Williamson returns to Winnipeg after a holiday with grandparents. Sarah Brown and her mother left for Brandon for medical treatment and work at Canada Packers resumes. G Farrdell of Winnipeg visiting the Smiths returned home August 1. Rev Onions of Hamiota visited with his son and daughter at the Armstrongs while at a United Church conference in Winnipeg. Two deaths recorded: Mrs Mike Ostecki at 52, and John Kowalchuk at 69, with interment August 4 at the Ukr Greek Orthodox Cemetery, Glen Elm.

Vista Boys and Girls Club Earn High Marks at Contest
Vista boys and girls clubs participated in an outdoor programme event on Tuesday, with the girls delivering a major portion of the Sailors Frolic. The clubs won first prize in the parade, while individual participants earned multiple prizes in categories such as vegetables, lunch kits, and seeds display. The Vista Seed Club placed fourth in seeds, and second in weed recognition, with some items omitted due to space.
