Roblin-Russell district Women’s Institute convention will be held in Inglis United Church Lower Hall on Wednesday May 5. Provincial president Mrs A J Poole will report on WI work and future plans. Speaker Dave Coppleman from Russell will discuss Laws of Interest to Women, followed by Q A. Slides from Holy Land trip and Greece shown after supper. All sessions open to non members.
The Ukrainian Women's Association of Oakburn held an April 24 bazaar with ticket sales and a dance. Winners include Nancy Polowy, Cathie Lusky, Joy Yarish, Sally Bachewich, Nick Polowy, John Hrytsak, Harry Starczuk, Michael Lusky, Ernest Shwaluk, and Olga Nykoliation. A service at Ukr Greek Orthodox Church followed by Easter dinner at Ukrainian National Home. Mr. and Mrs. Mike Nowosad celebrated 50 years with a community party at Oakburn Parish Hall.
