Canada’s Fourth Victory Loan organizers arrange remote buying by mail with an applicator form and cheque. Purchasers transmit ten percent of par value and bank to process within a month. A $100 Victory Bond supports a soldier for about three weeks domestically or two weeks overseas.
The observer denounces wartime strikes while urging workers to be treated as partners in production. He criticizes big business for dictatorial practices and links strain between industrial and agricultural workers to reactionary aims. He warns farmers against propaganda that could entrench financial interests after the war.
Local residents and visitors from Oakburn and surrounding areas spent holidays and Sundays visiting relatives in Sandy Lake Seerh Mareo Winnipeg Fort William and Yorkton. Travelers included Peter Sion Borodie J Nedolsky Gordon Menzie and many others with siblings spouses and children visiting across Manitoba and Ontario.
Mrs Joe Dunits visited her parents at Horod for several days. Mr Mike Nykoliation went to Strathclair on business last week. Mrs Meserecyy is home after a two weeks visit at the home of her daughter Mrs Mike Shwaluk Vista. Mr and Mrs Nick Karchaba moved into their new home. They lived formerly with his par ents. Mr agd Mrs Johnn V Matiowsky and family moved to Vista where they will make their new home. Jim Busch visited his mother at Brandon. He is living with his grandmother and attending Seech School. Mr and Mrs Mike Gerelus and Peter Gerelus moved to a Steve Shewaga has returned from Ontario living with his sister and brother in law Mr and Mrs Bill Peech. He was employed in a mine. Pte Mike Posmituck spent his furlough at home with his parents. Pte Mat Solonynka spent his furlough at home. They are both stationed at Nanaimo BC.
Rossburn residents and visitors share Easter holidays with relatives in Roblin Brandon and Winnipeg. A Red Cross display and bond acknowledgment are planned, while local soldiers and army personnel return home for holidays.
In loving memory of Christena Jane Ferguson who passed away one year ago on May 2 1943. Her family recalls her with longing as time passes and they shed silent tears. Ever remembered by Dad and family.
Vista notes show teachers on Easter leave and families visiting relatives over the holiday. Mrs. W. Baker returns from Dymond Ontario. Mr. and Mrs. D. McIntyre and their children visit Russell, while Mrs. Zemliak and family go to Menzie. Mrs. Martin visits her parents as Sgt. and Mrs. Menzie spend Easter with the Millers. Ladies Aid members mentioned.
