A fragmentary religious text cites Jesus saying I am the resurrection and the life and that belief grants eternal life even after death. The wording is archaic and garbled, referencing a Bible verse likely John 11 25 with misspelled words.
The Review begins a weekly serialization from a 1931 manuscript recounting Rossburn pioneers from 1870. The piece notes its incomplete chapters, the 19 original chapters, and thanks to contributors including Hugh Warnyuck William Young and Mrs Robert Carson. It details the Peden brothers arrival in Manitoba in 1870, their mining and fort efforts, settlement near the river, and early Rossburn development with families like Pedens and Broadfoots. E C Gil Lat Manitoba Associated Boards of Trade secretary treasurer calls on all boards to lead spring cleaning. He urges plans now for a community effort including children to fix streets plant trees paint fences and start victory gardens. He recommends a small energetic group to form committees on publicity and finance to drive action.
MEARS Mr Alex Shawchuk with Alex Saley of Rossburn traveled to Brandon for a business trip while Miss Maria Michalchuk left for home for Easter. Mike Arynick, recently discharged, visited friends in the district. Joe Maydanuik visited Win Kabon at Glen Elmo. Fred Korchuk returned home from Winnipeg. Tony Saley, recovering from an operation at Sacred Heart Hospital, is improving.
Mr. Joe Peden left Wednesday night for Kelowna to reside temporarily. Mr. and Mrs C D Douglas Bill with Mrs T rong and Jean visited Mr Kerry and Mr Mrs Tom McDonald at Speer's Ranch Carberry. W A Chubley to ship live stock on Monday April 29. Eleanor and Shelia Blaig L and Mr Lindsay visit with J Lindsay family. The Tolend and Shar om family spent Easter with Brandon relatives. Alex Wilson visits Winnipeg during Easter holidays.
Local residents visit relatives across towns during the Easter season. Highlights include Mr and Mrs Lester Collins and Miss Edith Craig, with others from Rossburn, Brandon, Moose Jaw, and Grandview visiting families. A Pentecostal church service is announced for Sunday at 8 pm led by Mr Y Garett. Several teas and gatherings are noted, plus changes in local hosting as the Douglas hotel sale proceeds and families plan moves to Barrhead Alberta.
