The Rossburn community joins friends in congratulating Donald Sinclair on his 90th birthday. Born in Caithness Scotland on April 12 1856 he sailed to Canada in 1880 via New York and St Boniface. He crossed the Red River on the ice and traveled from Winnipeg to Rossburn by ox team, a 21 day journey. He remains wealthy and shares many pioneer stories from the district.

Birthday salute to Mrs W Young on 93rd year

Congratulations to Mrs W Young on her 93rd birthday. An open house at the home of her daughter Mrs L Johnson drew about forty guests who enjoyed a dainty tea. Mrs Young, a pioneer of the district, arrived in Manitoba 55 years ago and settled on her brother-in-law Mr James Young's farm five miles north of Rossburn.
