Obituary for Mark Olynyk 28 Dies After Workplace Accident
Mark Olynyk, 28, died March 16 2000 from injuries after an accident at his job site three days earlier. Born September 10 1971 at Russell District Hospital to Peter and the late Arlene Olynyk, he grew up in Rossburn and attended Rossburn Elementary and Rossburn Collegiate, graduating in 1992. He lived in Silver Creek, Bowton and Russell, worked for PMU ranchers, enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was known for his determination and caring nature. He is survived by his father Peter and stepmother Elaine four half brothers Aaron Shaun Scott and Anthony sister Lauren Matthew Bilanka sister Sonia Milton Brykaliuk nephew Ryan of Rossburn and niece Alicia in Angusville, step-sister Vicki Shmyr, grandmother Phyllis Webster and many aunts and uncles. Funeral services were held at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Ukrainian Catholic Church in Rossburn with interment at Ruthenia Cemetery.
