Mohyla Cemetery Committee Forming Fence and Cairn
At a March 31 1987 Mohyla Cemetery Committee meeting in the R M office sixteen attendees including descendants of Mohyla pioneers planned a smaller fenced area to cut costs. Local volunteers will build the fence in spring and donations will fund a cairn honoring area pioneers. Renovations at Rossburn Pool Elevator Underway
The Manitoba Pool Elevator in Rossburn is undergoing renovations with work on the grain storage system starting March 23 and the loading leg and scale beginning March 30. Two steel grain bins add 41 000 bushels of space while the east receiving leg extends for gravity to the shipping scale and the front and back legs handle receiving loading and filling new box cars. An elevator top extension will host an automated shipping scale and a new computer program will weigh grain automatically. Full automation is planned by mid June. Manitoba Pool Elevator crews handle loading leg and scale with Peterson Grain Elevator and Construction of Winnipeg installing the storage system.

Manitoba Introduces Water Rights Act Licensing Regime
Manitoba announces the Water Rights Act and Regulations to take effect April 4 1987. Leonard Harapiak says water scarcity requires licensing for water diversion works and sets fees 50 for most licences 25 for drainage works and an annual volume based charge for municipalities and industries while agricultural users receive free water under licence. About 130 cities and towns 70 Winnipeg businesses affected. Winnipeg itself is exempt. aim to curb growing demand across domestic municipal agricultural and industrial users.

Village of Rossburn council met March 23 with Deputy Mayor Shirle Kalyniuk presiding. Discussions covered water rate approval for 1987 88, the 1987 Education Tax Levy of 87339, CN grain movement costs, Library Job Training applicants, and moving items from the Boychul Museum with a surrounding fence plan.
