A wartime bulletin describes bombardments near Bruges and Zeebrugge with ships stores destroyed and a crane damaged. It notes Irish unrest and presses in Dublin, with nationalist papers cited. Allied lines report pressure from Ypres to La Bassée as German reinforcements arrive. Special Methodist Church services will be led by Rev W P Reskie Maeday at 2 p m. in the church. A Methodist Rally will be presided over by Rev J M Murchison B A district chairman with a programme including choir practice 6 00 p m to 9 00 p m Thursday and the Ladies Aid Society testing at five p m at Mrs P F Bowles residence. The council meeting at J H Maceya’s residence on Nov 16 approved payments including Western Canada Raw Mill Yards $4.55, T J Anderson $66, and a $100 road work payment in Division 8. Several accounts for Rose Town Hospital and City Hospital were scheduled for payment pending review, with other stipends and council medical roadwork costs approved for individuals such as Ridpath D and C L Burt.
The Rosetown Town Council held a regular meeting on November 23, 1914 with Mayor Holmes and members McDougald, Graham, Cobban, and others present. They read minutes, discussed school debenture, legal advice, new chemical engines, and bylaw procedures for the annual elections, with final readings and adjournment noted.
