Union Hospital Board Organizes for 1918
The Union Hospital Board held its first meeting in the town hall with Reeve Christanaud Ayer Mountain View Reeve Bereannant iH Collins St. Andrews A. G Sillyaml HW Morrie P. Murphy and J. W. Heartwell Rewetown present Murphy named chair and Heartwell secretary treasurer at 2500 for the year The board voted to involve the mayor and approved a line of credit and necessary negotiations for hospital business The Ladies Hospital Aid may handle linen purchases and the town plus three rural municipalities will cover patient charges after April 1 Residents pay 2.00 daily for public ward with others at higher rates plus 13 percent added for non residents and advance payment for excess Inmates may wait up to two weeks more time costs to be borne by the patient A committee will prepare plant estimates for twelve more nurses room and new plant work and submissions to Government Board and Council
